Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty’s (AGCS) film and entertainment business in Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific region has partnered with SURA Film & Entertainment (SURA).

SURA has been serving the film and entertainment industry in Australia for over 40 years, with its Cinesure brand being the first Australian brand to write film and entertainment insurance.

The collaboration will see AGCS and SURA provide insurance products via a newly rebranded entity, Cinesure Global Pty (Cinesure Global).

As part of the deal, Cinesure Global will continue to provide specialised products for risks in the film and entertainment industry. It will be led by Joe Lo Surdo and Damian Kerin, who have a combined more than 60 years of specialised industry knowledge.

The newly rebranded entity will look to build on its specialty portfolios and leverage its capabilities and talents on a mission to become the most significant film and entertainment insurance company in the Pacific.

“We are delighted to partner with Allianz and bring the strength and expertise of our respective businesses together under the Cinesure Global brand. I am confident this will bring significant benefit to brokers and their clients,” said AUB Group CUO Angie Zissis.

Allianz global head of entertainment Michael Furtschegger said: “I am pleased to see both entertainment market-leading entities joining up.

“The partnership with SURA further strengthens our presence in the Pacific region and expands our joint value proposition to provide best-in-class services and products to our client and distribution partners.”
