Global specialty insurer and reinsurer SiriusPoint has announced the appointment of Bronek Masojada as chair of the company’s board of directors.
Masojada, an industry veteran with over 30 years of leadership experience in the insurance market, joined the board earlier this year. Sharon Ludlow, who joined the board in February 2021 and has been serving as interim chair since May 2022, will continue as a non-executive director and chair of SiriusPoint’s audit committee.
“It is an honor to take on the role of chair at this crucial stage of SiriusPoint’s development,” Masojada said. “The company has a strong foundation, an established platform, and a skilled executive leadership team dedicated to driving performance and achieving results.”
Masojada also acknowledged Sharon Ludlow’s contributions.
“As interim chair, Sharon has successfully guided the board through a challenging transitional period, overseen the appointment of a transformation and growth-focused CEO, and positioned SiriusPoint for future success,” he said. “I look forward to working with Scott and the executive team, as well as Sharon and our fellow directors, to ensure performance, stakeholder focus, and value creation remain at the forefront of the company.”
Masojada, who retired as chief executive of Hiscox Ltd in 2021 after nearly 30 years with the global specialist insurer and reinsurer, brings extensive experience in building businesses and driving strong performance and culture. He played a significant role in growing Hiscox from a single office in London to a global presence with revenues reaching almost $5 billion.
In addition to his role at SiriusPoint, Masojada serves as the chair of Placing Platform Limited, an industry utility driving digitization in the London insurance market.
SiriusPoint recently announced the appointment of Nestor Lopez as chief technology officer.
