Everest Re names new chief executive for Singapore branch

As the branch’s new leader, Bogardus will continue to report to Artur Klinger. He will oversee operations for Everest Reinsurance across all of the APAC region from the Singapore office and will also continue to lead the strategic expansion of Everest Re’s Asia-Pacific business, including identifying opportunities for growth and portfolio diversification.

“Successful growth, diversification, and profitability”

“Since Kevin joined Everest last year, he has leveraged his deep network and partnerships throughout the region and successfully led the growth, diversification, and profitability of our Everest Reinsurance Asia-Pacific portfolio,” international reinsurance head Arthur Klinger said. “Kevin is a well-known leader and respected broadly across our industry. His proven track record of driving growth and high-performing teams make him the ideal leader for our business and offering.”

Bogardus’ expertise with regards to the role is based on three decades of experience building, as well as leading, a successful insurance business in Asia at major global insurance and reinsurance companies. His previous posts include country president at Chubb Singapore and Chubb China; the latter saw him oversee ACE’s acquisition of Chubb China and leading the company’s profitable business expansion within the country. He also established two new branches in Beijing and Guangzhou.

Before that, Bogardus had established a first-of-its-kind direct insurance underwriting syndicate for ACE as part of the Lloyd’s China team, as well as serving as chief advisor and board director for Huatai P&C Insurance.

Earlier this year, the global reinsurance group appointed Srini Maddineni as group chief information officer. Maddineni has 30 years of experience in the financial services and insurance sectors.
