Charles Taylor, an international loss adjusting firm, has entered into a new associateship with Thailand-based Global Adjusting Technical Services (GATS) to enhance its offerings in large and complex claims handling.

GATS has the largest team of licensed and chartered loss adjusters in Thailand, offering services across multiple insurance lines, including property and casualty, construction, marine, power generation, and business interruption. The company’s expertise also extends to specialised sectors such as liability insurance, covering professional indemnity and product liability, as well as fine art and specie insurance.

The partnership reflects growing client demand for professional adjusting services across key sectors in the country.

What to expect from Charles Taylor and GATS partnership

The agreement broadens Charles Taylor’s regional presence in Asia Pacific, where it employs more than 350 specialists in locations such as Singapore, Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Japan, Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, and Vietnam.

By adding GATS to its network of associates – which includes partners in Korea, India, Pakistan, and the Philippines – the company aims to ensure consistent technical expertise across a wider range of markets.

Stephen Thorpe, managing director for Asia at Charles Taylor, noted the strategic importance of Thailand in the company’s regional growth plan.

“Thailand is an important growth market for Charles Taylor as we continue expanding our presence across Asia,” he said.

He said that the partnership with GATS ensures that Charles Taylor’s clients would receive the highest standard of service for their claims in Thailand.

Paul J. Rabbitte, managing director of GATS, expressed similar enthusiasm.

“We are pleased to partner with Charles Taylor in offering a broad spectrum of adjusting and claims management services to meet the growing needs of clients today,” he said.

Bob Battoo has been named managing director for aviation in Asia Pacific, while Dennis San Jose has been appointed resident technical manager for aviation asset management.

Battoo, returning to Singapore, will oversee a team that manages a range of aviation-related claims and risks, including aircraft hull and liability claims, crisis management, and survey and salvage operations.

San Jose will lead the company’s new aviation asset management services in the region, which cater to aircraft owners, airlines, financiers, and leasing firms
