ReInsurance Business has unveiled its 2024 Rising Stars, recognising top young professionals across key markets including Australia, the US, the UK, Canada, New Zealand, and Asia.

These individuals have distinguished themselves in the reinsurance sector, demonstrating their ability to address various market challenges.

What’s happening in the reinsurance market?

The reinsurance market has seen notable fluctuations in the latter half of 2024, with uncertainty around the casualty sector and the future direction of property reinsurance.

Despite these shifts, the professionals named to the Rising Stars of 2024 list have shown the capacity to navigate this complex and changing market environment.

Selection criteria for the Reinsurance Business Rising Stars 2024 list

Earlier this year, ReInsurance Business invited nominations for its first-ever Rising Stars list, open to individuals aged 40 or younger as of Oct. 1, 2024. Candidates had to be actively working in a role that either directly or indirectly influences the reinsurance industry, while also demonstrating a strong commitment to their career and the sector as a whole.

Nominees were assessed on several factors, including their current job responsibilities, notable achievements, and contributions to shaping the reinsurance landscape. Feedback and endorsements from senior industry leaders were also considered.

After evaluating the submissions, the ReInsurance Business team selected 38 professionals to highlight in its final list. Among this year’s winners was Guillaume Farges, vice president and senior client underwriter, of Swiss Re Canada, a passionate reinsurance executive with 15 years of experience.
