Managing general agent CHES Special Risk has expanded in Canada by unveiling a new office in Edmonton, Alberta.

Part of the MGA’s broader strategy to meet rising demand and boost its regional footprint across the country, the expansion will be headed by Kirstie Faferek. The senior underwriter, who has been with CHES Special Risk since the middle of last year, was appointed as branch manager.

Faferek brings extensive industry experience and a strong background in operational management and client relations to her new role at the wholesale brokerage. The branch manager’s leadership is expected to play a crucial role in enhancing CHES Special Risk’s local presence and serving brokers in the region.

“I am honoured to take on the role of branch manager for our Edmonton office,” Faferek commented. “This new location represents an exciting opportunity to work closely with local brokers and deliver our top-notch services. I look forward to building strong relationships within the community and driving our mission forward.”

According to CHES Special Risk, the Edmonton office will serve as a central point for the MGA’s wide range of insurance products, offering comprehensive support to brokers and clients throughout Alberta.

Highlighting the importance of the new site for the Lloyd’s coverholder, CHES Special Risk president and chief executive Gary Hirst said: “We are thrilled to be expanding our footprint with the opening of our Edmonton office. This strategic move is designed to better serve Alberta brokers locally, reflecting our commitment to providing tailored insurance solutions and fostering closer relationships within the community.
