InsureMyTrip unveils new offering aimed at young travellers

It’s designed for those aged 29 and under

Travel insurance comparison website InsureMyTrip has launched a new offering aimed at young Canadian travellers.

The TIPS Youth Premier Plan is underwritten by Old Republic Insurance Company of Canada. It is designed for travellers aged 29 and under, offering comprehensive coverage at competitive rates.

The all-inclusive insurance option aims to provide young adventurers peace of mind during their travels. The plan covers a wide range of potential travel issues, including trip cancellation, trip interruption, emergency medical and evacuation services, baggage loss, and travel delays.

The key features of the plan include:

Comprehensive coverage: The plan covers trip cancellation (if purchased within 72 hours of the final trip payment), trip interruption, emergency medical/evacuation, baggage loss/delay, and travel delay benefits.
High coverage limits: Travellers can insure trip costs up to $25,000 per person, with coverage available for a maximum of two travellers.
Pre-existing conditions stability period: The plan includes a 60-day stability period prior to the effective date for the insured or a travelling companion. For trips exceeding $15,000, a 180-day stability period applies to non-travellers whose pre-existing conditions might lead to a cancellation or interruption claim.
Emergency medical coverage: The plan offers up to $1 million in coverage for emergency medical expenses and medical evacuation/return home services.
Travel disruption coverage: Coverage is provided for common travel disruptions, including carrier delays, weather-related cancellations, and “avoid all travel” advisories issued after the policy’s effective date.
Baggage loss coverage: The plan also includes provisions for passport and travel visa replacement up to a specified limit.
Travel assistance services: Comprehensive support services are available to assist travellers during their trips.
