A Lifetime of Dedicated Service

Nettie and her husband, Angelo Borelli, established the Borelli Insurance Agency in Belmont, MA. For 70 years, the couple worked side by side, diligently serving their clients and building a reputation for reliability in homeowners, automobile, and business insurance. Their approach of knowing clients by name and always being available to answer questions became a hallmark of their business.

Nettie’s legacy in the insurance industry continues through her children, who now operate the family business. This transition ensures that the Borelli Insurance Agency’s tradition of personal service and dedication will continue for years to come.

A Rich Life Beyond Insurance

While Nettie devoted much of her life to the insurance agency, she pursued numerous interests outside her professional career. An accomplished artist, Nettie was actively involved with the Naples Art Association at the Von Liebig Art Center in Naples, Florida. She frequently displayed her work at “Art in the Park” events and with the Art Crafters of Naples.

Nettie’s passion for art began early in life. She graduated from the Boston Public Schools and the High School of Practical Arts, majoring in a Special Art Course. Her talent earned her a scholarship to the Art School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, MA. She continued her artistic education at the Butera School of Art and under-established artists, including Donald Plummer of Lexington and Thelma Joiner of Belmont and Rockport, MA.

Community service was also close to Nettie’s heart. She volunteered as a teacher/reading partner for children in the Naples Elementary School System, sharing her love of learning with younger generations. Her community involvement extended to sports as well, serving as the longtime President of the Belmont Tennis Association.

Nettie was an active member of various social clubs, including the Sagamore Beach Colony Club, the Vineyards Country Club in Naples, Florida, and the White Cliffs Country Club in Plymouth, MA. In her retirement years, she split her time between summers on Cape Cod and winters in Naples, Florida, always accompanied by her husband Angelo, who supported her artistic pursuits.

Nettie is survived by her husband of 70 years, Angelo Borelli, their children Jeanne and John “Jay” Borelli, and several grandchildren.
