This response comes after an assailant stabbed six people to death and wounded more than a dozen others at the shopping centre on April 13.

Investigation of Westfield Bondi Junction incident

Authorities have launched a critical incident investigation after the stabbing and subsequent police shooting that resulted in multiple fatalities and injuries.

A Queensland man, Joel Cauchi, 40, was fatally shot by police after allegedly threatening an officer. The incident led to the formation of Strike Force Mcauley by homicide detectives to investigate the circumstances. This inquiry will also undergo an independent review.
