Full Chat: A brand new motorbike podcast

Full Chat podcast with David Prutton and Iwan Thomas

Join hosts David Prutton and Iwan Thomas as they front Bikesure’s brand new motorcycle podcast, Full Chat, featuring celebrity guests as they discuss their love of motorbikes.

Each week throughout the series, our hosts will be joined by a famous face to talk about their favourite bikes, the issues bikers face on the road and funny tales from their riding history.

The podcast, launching in late April, will be available on all the usual audio platforms including Spotify, Audioboom, Facebook, Apple, and you will also be able to watch episodes on YouTube and our website.

Whilst Prutton and Thomas had successful careers in their respective sporting fields, both are mad motorcycle enthusiasts who are looking to share their knowledge and passion for all things two-wheeled to listeners.

Who is David Prutton?

David Prutton is a former Premier League footballer, having played centre midfield for Nottingham Forest and Southampton in the top flight, as well as Leeds United, Sheffield Wednesday and Coventry City in the Football League, before becoming a pundit on Sky Sports.

His interest in bikes started when on holiday in Los Angeles. Whilst sitting outside a bar, Prutton noticed a minimalist custom Harley-Davidson pull up with the rider’s girlfriend riding pillion that caught his attention. It wasn’t long afterwards that the former footballer took his CBT test when back in the UK and bought a Honda VT125 Shadow.

That machine was quickly followed by a similarly-styled Triumph America, and an idyllic road trip of America through Death Valley and the Pacific Coast road on one of that nation’s big-capacity v-twins.

America is not the only place he’s had a road trip. The 42-year-old had a BMW GS Adventure that he rode all around Europe before it was stolen in Swansea.

Who is Iwan Thomas?

Iwan Thomas is a former Olympic and Commonwealth Games athlete and television personality, who held the UK record for the 400m (at a staggeringly impressive 44.36 seconds).

His first bike, like so many other riders, was a 50cc scrambler in which he used across the fields where he grew up, before advancing to an Aprilia AF1 aged 16.

During his athletics career, his coach did not allow him to ride any bike due to the nature of his rigorous training regime. However, after sustaining a few serious injuries, he decided purchasing a bike couldn’t make things any worse.

This led him to buying an R1, which he kept hidden from his coach in his friend’s garage to avoid any arguments.

Thomas has since become a sportbike fanatic owning a Honda Fireblade last year, before moving onto a custom Harley-Davidson Crossbones.

The 50-year-old is also a big fan of dirt bikes having recently purchased a Husqvarna FE350, a seriously impressive dual sport bike. And it seems the dirt bike obsession in his family has gone full circle, as he tries to pass his obsession onto his kids.
