Westfund Health Insurance has announced a new partnership with My Mirror, a provider of mental health support services.

The partnership aims to provide affordable access to mental health support services for Westfund members aged 13 and above throughout Australia via My Mirror’s online therapy platform. Additionally, Westfund members will enjoy a 5% discount on the services offered by My Mirror.

My Mirror specialises in counselling and coaching, utilising a robust matching system to connect patients with local psychologists and clinical psychologists. This ensures that most appointments are scheduled within 48 hours, promoting timely access to mental health support. The platform also offers an online matching tool to assist patients in finding the right provider.

“Online therapy can be just as effective as face-to-face and opens up access for our members who live in locations where mental health services are non-existent,” she said. “By sharing quality, digital healthcare services, we’re helping members explore all the options available to them through their cover with Westfund — and all from home.”

Accessible mental health support

According to Westfund’s 2023 Regional Health Gap Report, there was a decrease in overall mental health spending during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the report also highlighted an increase in the severity of patients treated.

“Findings from the Westfund Regional Health Gap Report suggest that many people may have gone untreated during the pandemic. We hope that by opening up access and helping to address affordability, more members can get the care they need,” Maltabarow said.

Westfund members across all states and territories in Australia can avail themselves of My Mirror’s services, along with their exclusive member discount, through Westfund’s Health Co-op.
