Crum & Forster’s Accident & Health (A&H) division has announced the promotion of Tanya Arrowsmith to the position of senior vice president. Arrowsmith’s appointment comes as the MBU is identified as a key area for growth within the A&H division. She will lead the unit’s diverse products and distribution team.

With over 25 years of experience in stop loss and medical reinsurance underwriting, Arrowsmith brings a wealth of knowledge to her new role. Her career includes tenures at several ESL MGUs, HM Insurance Group, and Swiss Re.

According to LinkedIn, she holds a Bachelor of Science in Family Studies from the University of New Hampshire. In her new role, Arrowsmith will oversee the division’s Medical Business Unit (MBU), managing a range of products including employer stop loss, HMO reinsurance, provider excess of loss, Medicare supplement, and ancillary and employee benefits.

Arrowsmith, who joined C&F in 2019, previously held the position of vice president of A&H. Her responsibilities encompassed various aspects of medical underwriting and account management, with a particular emphasis on managing general underwriter programs.

“I’m excited to have Tanya at the helm of our medical business unit. Tanya has been an integral member of the team, successfully and profitably managing much of the A&H division’s employer stop loss and managed care program business. As SVP, she will continue to manage these segments in addition to overseeing our close to $1 billion MBU across all program and direct business, as well as taking on responsibility for other product lines. The MBU is a strategic growth area for A&H, and Tanya will lead its diverse products and distribution team,” Crum & Forster Accident & Health president Gary McGeddy said.
